Thematic Drawing Reflection (3-D): October 30, 2012.
1. The strong parts of my thematic drawing are my shading parts because I spent a lot of time on shading and tried my best to make it look good. I think I did my city well because shading those perfectly was hard.
2. I could have done my lighting and tornado better. I also should have used my time better and not spent so much time on shading my city. My clouds aren't that great. They just look like blobs.
3. My unity is a thunderstorm. My lighting makes it pop because it's the only bright color in my drawing. I chose to draw a thunderstorm because it looked fun but I didn't realize that it'd be so difficult for me.
4. I used a lot of gray and shading but I did have a little yellow and some dark blue and violet. My lightest value is my lighting and my darkest is the clouds.
5. I put emphasis on my lighting! I got my lighting to stand out in my drawing because it has bright yellow and the rest of my drawing is dark shading.
6. I learned to not spend so much time on one problem, meaning that I shouldn't have spent so much time on shading my city and I should have went along and did other stuff too. Go for it and if it doesn't work move on and try something new.
7. I used one of my preliminary designs. It wasn't planned but I just decided that I thought that it looked cool so I went ahead and did it. I did it the way I did because I like storms and I like looking at them. I love when it is storming out it it is my favorite weather.
8. Yes, I think this is a worthwhile project. I liked the project just the way it was because it gave you some freedom and you got to choose what you wanted to draw.
