6-D: Thematic Painting Reflection: March 5, 2013.
1. I think my strokes are a strong part of my painting because they are all going the same way in the background but in the eye ball it's in different ways because it's suppose to look messy.
2. I could have done a more creative theme because it was kind of easy. It was just an eyeball and everyone was saying they were frustrated but I wasn't that frustrated because I thought it was easy. My theme was really easy, I should have made it more difficult to give myself a challenge.
3. My theme is an eyeball. I painted it because my favorite part of a person and the first thing I notice about them is their eyes. I love eyes and I thought I could make a a pretty cool eyeball.
4. I did a lot of different colors. I used different shades of greens, blues, maroon, pinks, and purples. For the iris of the eye I did a mixture of dark blues, light blues, greens, and a little bit of white. For the background I did different types of pinks, maroons, and purples. I also did black for the eye lashes. I just chose those randomly because I liked the colors.
5. The light value areas are in the iris and the dark areas are the background because I wanted the eye to be unique and pop. I thought that if I did a light color of the eye and a kind of dark background it would make it pop and look cool.
6. I learned that you make mistakes in life but you can just cover those mistakes up with other colors. So, a life lesson is when you make a mistake don't tell anyone, just cover it up and run.
7. I didn't really plan my painting. One day I just decided that I was going to paint an eye and I had no clue what colors I was going to use or anything. First, I drew out my eyeball. Second, I painted the iris. Third, I painted the iris over. Fourth, I painted the white part of the eye. Fifth, I painted the iris one more time. Sixth, I painted the background. Seventh, I painted the background over. Eighth, I painted the eyelashes.
8. I think this is a worthwhile project. I liked this project because I like painting. In the future I think that Mr. Purdy should let the students use any type of paint they want.
