Clay Creature Reflection (8-D): April 12, 2013
1. I think the strong part of my project is my trunk because I like how it's not straight. It looks like it's moving.
2. I think I could have done a better job with my legs because they aren't very strong and they could possibly break in the kiln.
3. My theme is an elephant. I chose an elephant because elephants are my favorite animals. The baby ones are really cute!
4. My elephant is sitting on her butt and it is about 3 inches tall approximately.
5. I think my trunk stands out on my elephant because it looks like it's moving. It's not sticking straight out. I made that the emphasis because I love the trunks of elephants, they're cute.
6. I learned that clay isn't like playdough, it is harder than I thought. It's not like I'm making a little toy with playdough like I did when I was a kid, I actually had to put effort and work into to it to make it look good. It could apply to life in general by saying that you can get throught the tough times in life!
7. First I worked out the bubbles. Second I started making a snake. Third I destroyed the snake because it was too easy. Fourth I had Emily Willms help me think of an idea. Fifth I decided to make an elephant because it's my favorite animal. Sixth I started the elephant. Seventh I made the body. Eighth I made the head. Ninth I made the trunk. Tenth I made the legs. Eleventh I made the ears. Twelfth I put all the pieces together. Thirteenth I redid one of the legs because it fell off. Fourteenth I was finished.
8. I think this is a worthwhile project because it gave us a chance to try clay and see if we like it. I didn't mind the project I thought it was kind of fun but it was frustrating at times because you were not here to help us. I'm not blaming you because I know it's not your fault and you can't help it that you weren't here and it's good that you were there for your wife. I figured it out anyway because I got help from my friends that are in clay class now so it all worked out in the end.
